Detail Stones By Application

Which Detail Stone is Best for Which Application?

Detail stones are excellent tools for polishing ribs, slots, detail areas and hard-to-reach places. Falcon Tool offers a variety of detail polishing stones which can enable mold and die polishers to increase their efficiency and reduce the amount of time spent finishing these challenging mold features effectively.

Which detail stone you should use depends on the material of the mold you’re polishing, the mold features you’re polishing, how you’re polishing (by hand or with use of equipment), and the desired final finish. See below for a detailed guide.

Ceramic Super Stones

Made from long, natural ceramic fibers, Ceramic Super Stones are long lasting, extremely durable, and incredibly flexible, making them ideal for polishing ribs, slots, sidewalls, and other intricate areas. They are non-loading, will not break or dull and can be shaped to a very fine point. Excellent for EDM removal.

  • Available Grits: 80-3000
  • Available Profiles: Flat or round
  • Methods: Hand Polishing, Air Profiler, or Ultrasonic Polisher
  • Material: All types of mold and die materials, including stainless steel, aluminum, and other soft materials.
